Jennifer Stewart
Jennifer joined the DATA-CAN PPIE Group in October 2024.

Jennifer has always lived and worked in Scotland.
She has been involved with the NHS in one form or another for 45 years, initially as a research scientist working in the areas of cholesterol metabolism and Diabetes, both at basic science level and with clinical trials. Thereafter she spent 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry, as a sales account manager in Scotland, the last 15 years involved with cancer drugs.
Jennifer retired in 2022, and was passionate about giving back to the cancer community. She currently sits on the Beatson Cancer Centre Clinical Trials team as a PPI member, especially involved with early phase clinical trials .
Jennifer believes that safe data sharing is essential to improve patient outcomes across the country, and that systems should be improved to allow data collected from every hospital irrespective of size or geographical location can be analysed together.
Jennifer was involved with the decisions and advice on treatment and care of her late brother, who suffered from oropharyngeal cancer, made especially difficult during Covid.
In her retirement she likes to keep active, and her four grandchildren take up some of her time, with huge rewards.
