- Queen’s University Belfast is ranked in the top 200 in the world (Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021) and is ranked 8th in the UK for Research Intensity (REF 2014/ Times Higher Education).
- The University has a significant cancer focus, through the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research, the Northern Ireland Cancer Centre and the Northern Ireland Cancer Registry. It also hosts the Precision Medicine Centre of Excellence and Northern Ireland Biobank.
- Queen’s also has significant expertise in data science and AI. It is the lead partner in two data driven, academia-industry partnerships – the Institute of Research Excellence for Advanced Clinical Healthcare (iREACH) and the Global Innovation Institute (GII). It is one of only seven substantive Health Data Research UK sites in the UK.
